The blend of Japanese cedar & Stoh cladding contrasts beautifully with crisp architectural lines and contemporary detailing, creating a facade that is both visually striking and enduring. Designed with longevity in mind, it marries beauty with function seamlessly. Inside, the palette flows effortlessly from the exterior, maintaining a clean transition and a light, airy atmosphere. By keeping all the timbers within the same tonal family, the home achieves a cohesive sense of harmony that feels both refined and inviting.
Clouds Embrace
We are thrilled to be collaborating with Thorne Group and Thorne Group Architecture on Clouds Embrace. Nestled beneath the ever-changing, expansive sky, this home embodies a sense of romance—crafted to offer consistently cosy and intimate spaces that wrap you in a comforting embrace, always evoking the feeling of coming home. Rooted in its rural setting, the design draws on earthy, natural materials balanced with refined detailing, resulting in a timeless composition that will stand strong for generations.
Raw Sophistication
This architecturally designed residence masterfully blends natural textures with modern sophistication, resulting in a home that exudes warmth, durability, and timeless style. The exterior showcases striking board-formed concrete, its tactile, organic surface beautifully offset by the contrasting aluminium woodgrain vertical cedar cladding. Together, these elements create a harmonious façade that is both robust and inviting. Inside, the palette continues with stunning European oak floors and feature walls lined in cedar, contrasted against crisp, clean finishes that allow luxurious materials to shine. Plush wool carpets bring softness underfoot, while linen ceiling-hung drapes add a sense of elegance and flow. In the wet areas, large-format tiles are paired with exquisite natural stone, striking the perfect balance between refined design and a celebration of natural materiality.
Classic Beauty
A recent project saw us helping our clients breathe new life into their home with timeless furniture, décor, and window furnishings—reigniting their love for the space. We carefully sourced new sofas, coffee and side tables, lamps, cushions and throws, artwork, a statement mirror, and selected window treatments to complement the interiors. Working within an existing space and alongside much-loved pieces is both a challenge and a joy, resulting in a refreshed home that feels layered, cohesive, and deeply personal.
Waves Whisper
The interior reflects the exterior with an intentionally simple, natural palette. Warm timbers flow through the flooring and into the kitchen, setting the foundation for a calm, grounded aesthetic. This is layered with slouchy linen sofas, soft linen curtains, and cosy sheepskin beanbags—elements that embody the ease of relaxed coastal living. In the bathrooms, clever storage solutions are carefully considered, complemented by textural and colourful accents in the fittings, adding depth and personality while maintaining a sense of effortless harmony.
Stones Throw
The interior is a celebration of texture and detail. Herringbone oak flooring sets a refined foundation, complemented by a curved battened kitchen island and contrasting timbers that anchor the expansive space. Designed as a canvas for pieces collected from travels, the home deeply embraces family life and the stories woven through their adventures. In the bathrooms, softly textured large-format tiles create a serene backdrop, paired with practical storage solutions in the wet areas. Elegant window treatments complete the design, offering both functionality and a seamless alignment with the home’s cohesive aesthetic.
Beaches Abode
The entrance is both vast and welcoming, with a sculptural staircase sweeping you upstairs to expansive views. The palette blends blonded timbers and natural stone with subtle hints of green, creating a calm and grounded atmosphere that beautifully reflects the essence of the family who calls it home. Every space has been thoughtfully designed to feel warm and inviting, with natural light, layered textures, and timeless finishes combining to create a peaceful flow throughout. In the bathrooms, soft travertine is used in both large-format slabs and delicate hexagonal tiles, adding depth and refinement. Luxurious wool carpets offer comfort underfoot, while every detail has been considered to provide a nurturing environment for a growing family through their formative years.
Free Spirit
Our clients have a deep affinity for Eastern culture and design, and the intent for Free Spirit was to seamlessly weave these influences with a relaxed coastal sensibility. The result is a home that reflects their love for soft finishes—microcement surfaces, graceful curved doorways, and terracotta herringbone floor tiles—layered with subtle brass accents for warmth and refinement. We loved incorporating linen pendants and plush wool carpets, all grounded by a warm white palette. Together, these elements create a serene, soulful home that balances the calm elegance of the East with the relaxed charm of the coastal West.
His and Hers
This partnership began with two strong but contrasting visions—one dreaming of a light, airy kitchen and the other envisioning a bold, moody space. The result is a masterful balance of both: an elegant island in natural stone, paired with refined timber veneer cabinetry that grounds the design with style and strength. The kitchen not only looks the part but functions beautifully, enhancing the heart of the home as a space for living, gathering, and connection.
Holiday House
This total refurbishment focused on creating a cohesive and inviting holiday home. Soft taupe-stained oak flooring was introduced throughout, while custom-stained timber furniture was carefully crafted to blend seamlessly with the palette. A bespoke window seat was added to provide a relaxed nook for casual seating, enhancing the home’s sense of comfort and ease. The bathrooms were modernised with softly rounded vanities and mirrors, bringing a contemporary touch, while playful colour was introduced in the powder room and bedding. These accents draw inspiration from the work of a local artist, tying the home’s story back to its coastal setting and creating a thoughtful, connected design.
Rural Refinery
Working closely with a strong architectural vision, we set out to create a functional, welcoming home for our hardworking, down-to-earth clients. Their dream was to return to New Zealand and give their family the kind of upbringing they themselves had cherished—and this home was designed to make that vision a reality. Leaning into a rural palette of chocolate timber floors, stained cedar walls throughout. Maximising the spaced with good bathroom storage and spaces with impact to support furniture pieces that were collected from their time in the East. Urban Oasis
This home was designed to support a young family with diverse needs and passions—from a keen chef to a talented writer and a budding artist. It was important that the spaces carried as much personality as the people who live within them. The kitchen was envisioned as the heart of the home, flowing seamlessly to the outdoors for relaxed summer living, while also offering a cosy retreat during the cooler months. Lush greenery was layered throughout the interiors to connect with the stunning landscaped exterior, reinforcing a sense of calm and vitality. The introduction of green marble tiles in the kitchen further strengthened this connection, echoing the nourishing greens that set the tone for the home.
Masculine on Muricata
The design palette was strong from the outset, featuring rich oak flooring and striking floating stairs that set the tone upon entry. The kitchen stands proudly at the heart of the home, with sleek grey porcelain benchtops, modern flush gas elements seamlessly integrated into the stone, and concealed timber veneer cabinetry adding a refined touch. In the bathrooms, bold black stone baths and basins make a distinctly masculine statement, reinforcing the home’s confident and sophisticated aesthetic.

Tidle Reflections
The exterior materiality sets the tone with a striking combination of copper and black brick, establishing a rich, European-inspired character. The copper front door opens into a grand entrance, where heavily veined floor tiles and a beautifully crafted floating staircase immediately capture attention. From the top floor, breathtaking views unfold, reinforcing the home’s sense of drama and sophistication. Inside, the design intent was to weave in tidal hues through the soft furnishings. Textured velvets in the master bedroom and drapery reminiscent of chain mail, cascading elegantly from the ceiling, bring depth and romance. In the kitchen, bone-coloured porcelain surfaces align seamlessly with the home’s calibre, balancing strength and refinement throughout.
Light and Bright
An extensive refurbishment of an existing dwelling, this project was driven by a client with a clear vision to unlock the full potential of its prime position. Ceilings were raised to create a greater sense of volume, while a bright, fresh palette leans into a relaxed coastal feel—highlighted by crisp blue tiles in the bathrooms. Every space was maximised to ensure thoughtful storage, accommodating family gatherings and future visits from grandchildren. The design also provides a considered backdrop for a treasured art collection, allowing each piece to shine. Original solid tawa timber flooring was retained and restored, honouring the era of the home while seamlessly blending past and present.
