Kelly Wearstler a designer to be admired. Kelly Wearstler is an American designer. After founding her own design firm Kelly Wearstler Interior Design in the mid-1990s, her ensuing work within the hotel industry built her reputation in California, with The New Yorker dubbing her "the presiding grande dame of West Coast interior design."
A multi-layered, stimulating sensory experience is at the centre of Wearstler’s design approach. Through an exploration of materiality, colour, forms and an intuitive juxtaposition of contemporary and vintage, architectural and organic, graphic and instinctual, she curates a wealth of experiences into every space. Wearstler believes that honouring history, location and architecture is imperative to pushing the boundaries and challenging the rules.
You could spend literally hours looking on Kelly's website where it is filled with the most unique, stunning interior pieces that are sure to captivate you. I love that Kelly is not afraid of colour and she marries texture in as well. It is refreshing to come across someone's style and be completely be in awe of it, love what she does, but also not necessarily have all of it in your own home. To have a style like Kelly's you need to be brave. I would say you could incorporate some of her pieces without going the full monty. Even with a few pieces it would surely spruce up your space. I already have a wish list as long as my arm. Does Santa still take calls from adults?
We have collected some of our favourite pieces from Wearstler's website to share with you. We hope you enjoy this little feast for your eyes, and they leave you feeling as inspired as were were after learning more about this incredible designer.
